Week 8

Winter Term Module 2- March 2010

Rotation of Labs/Prelabs
This week you will continue through a rotation of 6 labs. Make sure you check the sheet you were given during the first lab to see which one you will do first. (If you can't find your sheet, email Vijay) Your prelab for the lab will be your own version of the Introduction from the manual and your answers to the prelab questions. This is done individually, not with your partner. If your prelab is not complete, you will loose a letter grade on your report.

Formal Lab Reports
If you did lab #1,3 or 6 in Week 7 the formal report is due by the start of your lab time in hard copy and on the upload site in ecopy. The ecopy must be in .DOC format. (Excel files must be imported into your Word document and .docx files must be compatibility saved in .doc format) The website is currently reconfigured to block .docx files, so you will know if it was done incorrectly!

The format for the formal report should follow the explanations/ example in Appendix 2. Sample formal report from Appendix 2 is also available here. Note for graphical presentation you should leave the Excel generated title blank and instead below the graph write a Figure # and a caption. The marking sheet that the TA's will use is on pg. 91 of your manual. You can check over the notes in the relevant sections on the marking sheet to make sure you completed everything required.

If you want a TA or Myself (Vijay) to take a look at your report (before it is due) we are happy to do so. Email either to set up a time to meet with us or you can send us the ecopy.
If something seems wrong in your analysis, email your TA or myself.
If you have any questions, email your TA or myself.
All contact info for the TAs is on our 'contacts' webpage.

Email if you have any questions
