Adaptaion of a Mobility Device

Hotel Dieu Hospital, the first hospital established in Kingston over 150 years ago, currently serves as the ambulatory care teaching hospital in the area. The Child Development Centre is located on the main floor of Hotel Dieu Hospital and provides a multidisciplinary team approach to assess and treat children requiring rehabilitation services. The Child Development Centre has a 6 year old client with a progressive form of Congenital Muscular Dystrophy. To get around, the student propels herself on a "trike" that was created from some wheelchair parts and adapted. She is growing and this current set-up has an inch of growth left. Students in this project were to provide the client with an adapted or new device with the same functional abilities that can accommodate future growth.
